Translated by google:

I have been waiting for a long time to finally have the English edition of this book in my hands, ever since I began to read very positive criticisms of it at the time of its first release in French, a language that unfortunately I do not master.

I had the pleasure of personally attending a conference by this Belgian artist in 1991 in London, at the Kennedy Hotel where the Ron MacMillan International Magic Convention was held annually, and I keep an excellent memory of it for the remarkable technique and mastery of the scene already demonstrated at time by a young Carlos Vaquera, then thirty years old.

Let’s start by saying that this book, almost 300 pages long, basically did not disappoint my expectations. From the beginning you can breathe the air of the best books by Larry Jennings, and certainly not by chance since the author was strongly influenced by his style, as well as by that of other great artists of the calibre of Edward Victor, Jack Carpenter , Shigeo Takagi, Ed Marlo, Arturo de Ascanio, but also of the more recent Paul Harris and the twins Buck: Dan and Dave.

There are really many effects and techniques (cards and coins) exposed, along with some in-depth articles. Precisely you will find described 39 Effects, of which 31 with the Cards and 8 with the Coins, but also 5 techniques with the cards and 8 in-depth articles (among the effects 25 require a table and 14 can be performed standing).

It is not a book suitable for beginners, but rather requires an intermediate if not even advanced technical level to be able to perform all the effects of the book, and a good dose of effort is necessary to master them. Each effect is very well described in detail and reads easily, although unfortunately we will not find presentation scripts for the effects. However, for the most part they are very well built in every detail, the techniques required by each are detailed and the credits are always provided. Finally, articles can also be a good source of inspiration.

The only other small negative note is that now neither the DVD nor the videos of the artist’s performances are provided, which were instead provided in the French edition. In this regard, the Publisher Vanishing Inc has stated that now their publication is not foreseen, since it would require translation from French, and it is a real shame!

In any case, given the rich content and the well-kept graphics, this book certainly deserves the $ 40 required for the purchase, very little compared to the treasure that you will find in your hands.
