Well, in both cases Distilled is the perfect book for you. It’s beautifully made, with an amazing cover and wonderful design on the inside. Ryan is a founding ensemble member and regular performer of the Chicago Magic Lounge;
His style is amazing, just like every trick in the book. If you are looking for the perfect effect, made with precision and with just the essential for creating a miracle, here they are. Each trick is the result of tons and tons of performances, that helped Ryan removing everything useless and placing details for the best effect possible. Some of them require preparation, but it’s because they are created for close-up situations with people sit at your table, and that assumes that you can walk at the table with an already prepared deck.
The ACAAN in the book is amazing, the reaction is incredible and the situation is perfect.
Ryan uses every subtlety he can, making each phase of each trick spectator proof and, sometimes, magician fooler.
If sometimes you perform in close-up situations just buy it, don’t ask why and if you don’t, still buy it.
Learning these tricks is not just “put new things in the repertoire”, it’s learning how year and years of performances can make a trick like “Out of sight out of mind” perfect, learning how you can adjust a trick with everything possible and transforming it in a miracle.
